Head of Procurement

Job description:

As Head of Procurement, you and your team (2 purchasers and 1 purchasing assistant) ensure a cost-efficient purchasing policy and the timely delivery of high-quality components.

• You establish contacts and negotiate with potential and existing suppliers worldwide about price, quality, service, delivery and payment terms.
• In consultation with the Engineering Department, you prepare purchase orders and investment files within the framework of the OIP high-tech projects.
• You work out processes and procedures in function of the purchasing objectives and ensure that these are meticulously followed.
• You research and implement possible improvements in the area of procedures,… You research and implement possible improvements in the area of procedures, etc. in order to improve the cost-effectiveness of the procurement processes.

Your profile:

• A technical schooling (bachelor or master) is a basic requirement.
• You know enough about mechanics, electronics and/or optics to understand the technical characteristics of the components well
• You are a good communicator, an assertive, goal-oriented negotiator, a spontaneous team player and a passionate people manager.
• You think analytically, act independently and understand that regular travel is part of your job.
• Besides an excellent knowledge of Dutch, you write and speak fluent English. Knowledge of additional languages (e.g. French) is a strong asset.
