Founded in 1919 in Ghent as Optique et Instruments de Précision, the company relocated to its current headquarters in Oudenaarde in 1988, where we continued to operate under the trade name OIP Sensor Systems.
For more than a century, OIP has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing advanced customised electro-optical solutions for defence and space.
Today, the company’s staff numbers nearly 200 people, most of them engineers, as this remains the cornerstone of our activities. From engineering and production to rigorous qualification, every step of our process is managed and executed with unmatched expertise in our Belgian facilities. This end-to-end control allows us to deliver tailored systems which meet our customer’s toughest operational demands.
